Liz Loxton - contemporary abstract art
How long have I painted? All my life – ever since I can remember drawing at our kitchen table as a child and not wanting to clear my things away because it was tea time!
I’m constantly curious about colour and the impact of colour. When I paint, I’m conveying the feelings we get from our surroundings – natural or built environments…. It is the engagement with our senses that keep these special places and moments alive in our memories for us to savour over and over again.... from the haven of our own homes.
Everywhere I go, there is something that catches my eye – special things, ordinary things – something that sparks my curiosity.
The strength and richness in my work comes from the risks I am willing to take in the experimental phase of studio practice.

“Liz's work hangs in pride of place in my office with good reason. To me, Liz's work is intelligent, evocative and beautiful in its abstraction. I hope to add more to my collection.”

“My daughter and I chose one of Liz’s stunning pieces. It has a prime place in our house, always turns heads – and we love it.”

“It was simply love at first sight. The painting is so evocative of the moody and dramatic mountains that dominate the Scottish Highlands, a place close to our hearts. I get lost in the picture. It is a thing of beauty.”
